October - SiliCon 2008

Fantasy writer Rick Hipps attended SiliCon 2008, at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, California, as a guest panelist.

The panel, “Self Promotion for New Writers,” included

• author Rick Hipps,
• award-winning editor Marty Halpern and
• author Kathy Watts (La Honda Pictures).

They discussed various ways of getting new writers’ work read by the public.

Also at the convention, held October 3rd, 4th and 5th, were

• Writer Guest Of Honor, Larry Niven (Ringworld, The Mote in God’s Eye),
• Music Guest Of Honor, Peter S. Beagle (The Last Unicorn, Folks of the Air),
• Diana Paxson (Westria Series, Ravens of Avalon) and
• Media Guest Of Honor, Chase Masterson (Star Trek Deep Space 9, Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles).
